
Donald Trump followed up on bizarre comments he made about a “neurotic” friend who bought a “fat shot” to lose weight earlier this week, telling Fox host Sean Hannity that the unidentified friend called the president afterwards. “I’m just glad I didn’t use his name,” Trump told Hannity aboard Air Force One. “He’s actually a very rich guy, he’s a very successful guy. He’s very happy, he knows exactly who I was talking about. He called, he said, ‘that was interesting.’ He said he was very concerned that I might use his name.” The president added that the friend “doesn’t have to worry.” The president first discussed the mystery friend at a press conference spruiking his plans to lower medication costs on Monday. “I’ll tell you a story. A friend of mine—he’s a businessman, very, very, very top guy. Most of you would’ve heard of him. Highly neurotic, brilliant businessman, seriously overweight, and he takes the fat shot drug,” Trump said. “‘I’m in London. And I just paid for this damn fat drug I take.’ I said, ‘It’s not working,’” Trump added. “‘I just paid $88. And in New York I pay $1,300. What the hell is going on?’”
