Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes weighed in on his team’s stunning loss in New Orleans Sunday night, saying he was devastated after the Philadelphia Eagles’ 40-22 win at Super Bowl LIX. “They played great, there’s no way around it,” Mahomes told reporters after the game. Anytime you lose a Super Bowl, it’s the worst thing in the world… it will stick with you the rest of your career,” he said. “It’s going to hurt for a while, but how can you respond from it?” Mahomes admitted, “I didn’t play to my standard and I have to be better next time.” Meanwhile, taking to X to post a message to fans, the 29-year-old wrote, “Appreciate all the love and support from #ChiefsKingdom I let y’all down today. I’ll always continue to work and try and learn and be better for it. Want to give thanks to God for every opportunity he has given me.We will be back.”
