Next James Bond: The 5 directors in talks to helm Amazon’s 007 reboot | Films | Entertainment

Earlier this year, Amazon MGM Studios announced that David Heyman (Harry Potter, Paddington) and Amy Pascal (Spider-Man franchise) will produce the next James Bond movie.

And now, the latest scoop from Hollywood is that the five major directors have pitched their visions for the 007 reboot to the pair.

According to two sources (and as already previously rumoured), Edward Berger (Conclave, All Quiet on the Western Front) has already pitched.

Meanwhile, Alfonso Cuarón (Harry Potter 3, Children of Men) had been in the mix, but the same insiders claim he’s recently removed himself from consideration.

Nevertheless, there are four other big names set to meet the producers for their Bond pitch.

According to Hollywood scooper Matthew Belloni, they are Denis Villeneuve (Dune, Arrival) and Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim, Baby Driver). Additionally, Sir Christopher Nolan’s brother Jonathan Nolan (TV’s Westworld, Fallout) and Paul King (Paddington 1&2, Wonka). The plan is to have a director hired this summer, followed by a script and then comes casting the next Bond.
