One of Them Days shocked the box office this weekend as the SZA and Keke Palmer comedy passed Universal’s Wolf Man reboot. The Sony movie opened in second place at $11.6 million at 2,675 North American theaters-with an estimated $14 million more expected through the end of the holiday weekend on Monday. Wolf Man, which was expected to steal the number one spot, sat at third place with $10.5 million in 3,354 venues and an estimated $12 million through Monday’s holiday. Palmer’s film holds a 97% Rotten Tomatoes score, while the Universal reboot received a rocky 53% score. Standing strong, however, is Mufasa, which lost its number-one spot last weekend but made a comeback with $11.9 million at 3,555 theaters and an estimated $15.5 million for the weekend. So far, the movie has made $209.8 million domestically and $588.4 million globally, according to Variety.
