Veteran journalist Katie Couric is giving her two cents on the Pentagon revoking the office space of The New York Times, NPR, NBC News, and Politico in favor of four more conservative outlets: New York Post, OANN, The Huffington Post, and Breitbart News Network. Couric reacted to the news in an X post in response to a memo announcing the change, which was obtained by CNN’s Haley Britzsky. “Wow. This is how news becomes propaganda. It’s begun. Pay attention,” Couric wrote in her message. In the memo, John Ullyot—acting assistant to secretary of defense Pete Hegseth—assures that the four outlets booted will still have the same access as before. Memo aside, Couric received mixed responses from fellow X users in response to her ominous message, with several people accusing her of being biased. Steve Krakauer, a producer of The Megyn Kelly Show, chimed in and turned the tables on Couric, calling her post “propaganda.” In response, Couric clarified that she has experience reporting on the Pentagon and knows the value of those physical workspaces.
